with clinical and administrative leadership, coordinates all
aspects of the Stroke and Sepsis program. The Sepsis and Stroke
Program Manager works collaboratively with physician leadership to
promote patient safety and quality care. The Sepsis and Stroke
Program Manager demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and
lead, influence and control activities pertaining to patients,
personnel and the environment. Manages all non-physician activities
related to the stroke and sepsis programs using evidence-based
principles and the standards set by the American Heart Association
and the Joint Commission. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: coordination of stroke and sepsis related initiatives
including Joint Commission Stroke certification. The Stroke and
Sepsis Program manager is responsible for collection, completion,
and verification of the accuracy of all patient data collected and
reported. The Manager maintains clinical and statistical data as
required by Beaumont Health and the Joint Commission. The Manager
will provide data collection and statistics to the Stroke and
Sepsis quality committees to promote positive outcomes and patient
education. Other activities include: staff education, process
improvement, peer review. The Stroke and Sepsis Program Manager
will represent the hospital in any state, regional or
organizational meetings and act as liaison to the community to
promote stroke and sepsis prevention.
- Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of the
stroke and sepsis program to provide quality care to this patient
population.
- Demonstrates leadership skills, consistent with system Mission
and Vision to empower, coach and evaluate performance.
- Provide leadership for the organization of services and systems
necessary for a collaborative approach to care. The Manager will
assume day to day responsibilities of process improvement
initiatives as they relate to nursing and ancillary personal who
deliver care.
- Plan, implement and evaluate clinical programs to ensure that
they are based on the most up to date evidence, provide high
quality care and patient focused outcomes. Stroke program will meet
AHA standards. Sepsis program will meet accepted stroke standards
of care.
- Advance PFCC as it relates to stroke and sepsis. Collaborate
with patient family advisors in process improvement.
- Participates in activities that promote good will and/or
exposure in the community.
- Provide program development, quality assessment, process
improvement and interdepartmental and inter-professional
communications to improve care.
- Support and maintain Joint Commission Stroke Certification.
Ensure that all measures are addressed with a focus on improving
care.
- Develop and deliver stroke and sepsis educational programming.
Evaluate effectiveness of educational programming.
- Participate in local and corporate committees related to stroke
and sepsis.
- Maintain professional development especially related to stroke
and sepsis.
- Maintains nursing license and additional certifications.
- Participate in research projects as needed to grow knowledge

- Required Master's Degree Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
required
- Preferred Master's Degree Clinical MSN preferred (CNS, NP)
- 5 years of relevant experience 5 years clinical and leadership
experience with evidence of successful project management and
facilitation skills. Required
- Experience with data extraction, organization, analysis, and
spreadsheet preparation, especially Excel. Required
- Prefer experience in Neurology/Stroke and/or Sepsis
populations. Preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire
required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon
Hire required
