Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor
& Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift:
12 Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in labor and
delivery. Experience with high-risk patients. Ability to circulate
in the operating room for C-sections. License: Current licensure by
the state board of nursing. Certifications: BLS required. NRP
required. Must-Have: Self-starter with good communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and
healthcare personnel. Description: Provides leadership in the
coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation. Provides, delegates, supervises,
and documents care and teaching of patients and families.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information
to the healthcare team. Participates in finding solutions for
variances from patient goals. Ensures the implementation of
identified solutions. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities
are necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to
perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1, with possible 2:2 for
observation patients or early labor/postpartum. Work schedule
typically includes three days a week from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
