Key Responsibilities: - Scrub in for general surgical procedures, ensuring readiness of instruments and supplies. - Prepare the operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and equipment tailored to each surgery type. - Inspect surgical instruments and equipment prior to use, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs. - Follow all departmental policies including quality assurance, safety, infection control, and environmental standards. - Maintain a clean, safe operating room environment; manage sterile supplies conscientiously to control costs. - Provide pre-operative patient comfort and support with an emphasis on privacy and sensitivity. - Assist Registered Nurses in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within the OR. - Deliver supplies efficiently to ancillary departments and support leadership with supply management processes. - Participate actively in department education programs, audits, and operational improvements. - Mentor and orient new Surgical Technologists as needed.
