Job Description:
Performance Foodservice is seeking a dedicated CDL A Shuttle
Driver to join our dynamic team, facilitating the efficient
transportation of food and food-related products across our
extensive network. This role is pivotal in ensuring that
high-quality service and timely delivery are consistently achieved,
helping us maintain our reputation as a leader in food
distribution. As a CDL A Shuttle Driver, you will have the
opportunity to work with top-tier logistics professionals and
state-of-the-art fleet technology, enhancing your driving skills
while contributing to the success of both Performance Foodservice
and its esteemed clientele. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck
to transport goods, materials, or equipment to and from specified
destinations, adhering strictly to company policies and regulatory
requirements. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure
safety and maintenance of the truck and equipment. Manage delivery
schedules and routes efficiently to maximize productivity and
minimize fuel use. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all goods
are secured properly according to safety regulations. Maintain
accurate logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair
status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Adjust
to variable route conditions including weather, construction, and
traffic interruptions as necessary. Provide excellent customer
service by effectively interacting with clients during deliveries
and pickups. Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
Proven record of safe driving practices Ability to handle physical
workload Excellent time management and navigational skills
Familiarity with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units,
CB etc) Strong organizational and communication skills Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current CDL A
License Clean driving record DOT Medical card HazMat endorsement
