Job Description Job Description Salary: Position Overview The
Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing
AUCHs market strategy and relationshipdriven growth across
Healthcare, Municipal, Higher Education, Commercial, K12, and
emerging sectors. This position leads market intelligence efforts,
competitive benchmarking, and the development of segmentspecific
value propositions. The role builds and strengthens partnerships
with owners, architects, and community stakeholders; drives pursuit
strategies and supports disciplined go/nogo decisionmaking; and
ensures strong alignment between Business Development, Marketing,
Operations, and Finance. The Business Development Manager also
establishes key performance indicators and reporting dashboards,
contributes to industry thought leadership through whitepapers and
training, and helps elevate AUCHs brand within the markets we
serve. Key Responsibilities: Market Intelligence & Strategic
Positioning Conduct ongoing market research across Healthcare,
Municipal, Higher Ed, Commercial, and K12 sectors Develop and
execute comprehensive strategies to stimulate business growth.
Monitor competitor strategies and benchmark industry best practices
Develop and refine AUCHs value proposition for each market segment
Identify emerging trends, innovation opportunities, and strategic
risks Relationship Building & Client Engagement Maintain AUCHs core
relationshipdriven BD approach Build and strengthen longterm
relationships with owners, architects, partners, and community
stakeholders Capture and respond to client feedback using tools
such as customer satisfaction surveys and ensuring successful NPS
Promote client loyalty and repeat business through proactive
engagement and meeting retention metrics Successfully meet
Leadership set goals on onboarding opportunities outside of the
K-12 Market Opportunity Development & Strategic Partnerships
Identify and help AUCH win new project opportunities, alliances,
and collaborative ventures Evaluate and prioritize potential
partners across industry, academia, and government Develop
frameworks for collaboration, outreach, networking, and
relationship management Support proposal development, pursuit
strategies, and go/nogo decisions Internal Alignment, Resource
Planning & Continuous Improvement Assess internal capabilities and
recommend staffing/talent needs for BD and Marketing Collaborate
across departments (Marketing, Finance, Operations) to align
strategy and execution Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting
structures for BD performance Drive continuous improvement through
feedback loops, innovation practices, and periodic strategy
refreshes Thought Leadership & Market Education Produce
whitepapers, lessonslearned briefs, and industry insights Deliver
seminars, training, and presentations in AUCHs areas of expertise
Contribute to the industry by sharing knowledge, trends, and
forwardthinking solutions Collaborate with Marketing/Communication
on content strategy and brand positioning Qualifications & Skills
Desired Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communications,
Construction Management, or related field 5 years of experience in
Business Development, preferably in the construction or
construction related industries Proven experience building and
maintaining client relationships with owners, architects,
consultants, and community stakeholders (with references to back
that up) Demonstrated ability to align crossfunctional teams (BD,
Marketing, Operations, Finance) Proficiency in CRM systems and
ability to track KPIs and build dashboards Excellent communication,
presentation, and storytelling skills, including comfort presenting
to internal and external audiences Strong strategic thinking and
problemsolving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a
fastpaced, relationshipdriven environment Work Environment This
role includes responsibilities performed in a traditional office
setting. Officebased duties may involve extended periods of sitting
or standing at a workstation, consistent computer use, and
participation in meetings. Employees may experience typical office
conditions such as moderate noise levels, climatecontrolled
